Travel Information

Travelling by car: Link to Info

There's no parking at the venue, but there's council-run pay-and-display street parking directly outside, including EV charging points. Two larger car parks are a 10–15 minute walk away: Cardiff Central / Central Quay (APCOA) and the John Lewis multi-storey. Blue Badge holders can park free of charge at Cardiff Council pay-and-display bays. There's a drop-off/pick-up bay directly outside the main entrance. For your sat-nav: CF11 6BH.

Travelling by train: Link to Info

Tramshed is roughly a 10 minute walk from Cardiff Central, the city's main station, with direct services from across Wales and from Bristol, London and beyond. Come out onto Central Square, head towards Grangetown and follow Clare Road - we're just off it on Pendyris Street (CF11 6BH).

Travelling by bike: Link to Info

A two-wheeled arrival is very welcome. There are 10 bike racks at the venue, and Cardiff's traffic-free Taff Trail brings you almost to the door.

Tramshed sits just south of the city centre in Grangetown, an easy, flat 10–15 minute walk from the centre and from Cardiff Central. Head down towards Grangetown and follow Clare Road to Pendyris Street. 

PLAYBACK runs across Tramshed and Tramshed Tech, a short 2 minute walk apart. Follow the signage and our team in the PLAYBAACK tops will point you the right way.

Accessibility Hub

  • Tramshed has level access throughout the venue and courtyard. A lift is available from the ground to the first floor - if you require the lift, please speak to a member of the team who will happily show you where to go.

    We have two accessible toilets:

    Ground Floor - located in the Waiting Room by the stairs

    First Floor - located 32m from the viewing area

    Management are equipped with Radar keys and the toilets have alarm systems.

    We have a dedicated Quiet Space set up for the event, found in the Dressing Rooms on the first floor (accessible via the stairs or through the balcony. Please see the map above, or speak to a member of the team who will guide you).

  • There is a small ramp up to the door and to the primary floor within the Tramshed Tech venue, accessible for wheelchairs.

    We have an accessible toilet located via the right hand corridor on the far side from reception (see map above). Speak to a member of the team if you need directions.

  • Lighting varies by session - some may have bright or strobe lighting. Notices will be displayed if strobe lighting is in use, and you can find more specific sensory information about each session via the schedule. 

    In general, you may experience:

    • Busy periods, particularly during registration, refreshment breaks, and between sessions.

    • A range of noise levels, from quieter workshop spaces to larger, more energetic sessions.

    • Time spent moving between venues in Cardiff City Centre.

    • Opportunities to meet new people, although networking is entirely optional.

     

    There will also be quieter moments throughout the day. You’re welcome to take breaks, step outside, visit the quiet space, or leave and rejoin sessions if you need to.

    You don’t need to attend every session or stay all day. We encourage you to engage in a way that works best for you.

    • Wheelchair seating available within the main room - please let a member of the team know where your seating preference would be and they will ensure there is space.

    • These talks are expected to be busy, with room capacity of up to 350 people.

     

    • A Quiet Space is located in the dressing room, through the doors at the end of the balcony upstairs or via the stairs stage right.

    • Accessible toilet is located by the stairs by the waiting room. Management are equipped with Radar keys and the toilets have alarm. systems.

    • These spaces are expected to be busy, with potential loud noises and interactive activity.

    • There are alternative routes to the cinema room that don’t require you to travel through the expo space if you do not wish to - please speak to a member of staff who will direct you to the best stairs and lift to take.

    • A Quiet Space is located in the dressing room, through the doors at the end of the balcony.

    • Accessible toilet is located near the top of the second stairs, just along from the Cinema Stage. Management are equipped with Radar keys and the toilets have alarm systems.

    • There are limited wheelchair spaces in this room - please speak to a member of the team about which event you’d like to attend and they will do their best to accommodate everyone.

    • There may be loud noises or flashing lights during screenings.

    • A Quiet Space is located in the dressing room, through the doors at the end of the balcony.

    • Accessible toilet is located 5m from the Cinema Stage. Management are equipped with Radar keys and the toilets have alarm systems.

  • Assistance dogs are welcome at the venue, we just ask that you please let us know in advance if you're attending with one so we can ensure your visit is as smooth as possible.

    We can provide water bowls, and in some cases an alternative space for your dog if the event environment isn't suitable.

  • There is on street parking directly adjacent to the venue and on Pendyris Street. According to the City of Cardiff Council's website, those with a blue badge can park in all pay-and-display parking bays for free-of-charge for as long as necessary - please note this parking is not associated with the venue and will be subject to availability.

    There are also 2 more blue badge bays a short distance from Tramshed: Jubilee Street (By Post Office) - 0.2miles to Tramshed.
